PTFE Tube

Thick-walled PTFE tube, widely known as Teflon tube, used for machining bushes, gaskets and sealing rings. It retains PTFE’s chemical resistance, low friction and continuous service temperature of up to 260 °C.

PTFE

White, pure (unfilled) PTFE. It is almost completely resistant to chemicals and has the lowest coefficient of friction of any plastic. It can be used from about −200 °C to +260 °C, absorbs no water, is non-stick and has excellent electrical insulating properties. It tends to creep (cold flow) under load, which needs to be taken into account in seal and bearing design.

Frequently asked questions

Are Teflon tube and PTFE tube the same product?

Yes. Teflon™ is a trade name that is widely used as a generic name for PTFE. The product on this page is tube made from unfilled PTFE.

Does this include thin-walled PTFE hose?

No. The product on this page is thick-walled PTFE tube used for machining parts such as bushes and gaskets. Thin-walled PTFE hose is a different product; you are welcome to ask about it with the size you need.

What information do you need for a quotation?

The outside diameter, inside diameter, length and quantity are enough. If you have a drawing of the part, we can also work from the drawing.

Why can the invoiced weight differ from the calculated weight?

The calculator gives the theoretical weight. The actual weight varies with dimensional tolerances and cutting allowance; we invoice on the actual weight as weighed.
