Slit Brass Strip
CW508L (Ms63) and CW505L (Ms70) brass strip, slit from brass coil to the width you need. Thicknesses of 0.10–1.00 mm, in widths to suit press and tooling lines. The minimum order for custom slit strip is 60 kg.
Grades and sizes
MS63
An unleaded brass containing about 63 % copper and 37 % zinc. It has good cold formability and is suitable for bending, blanking, deep drawing and spinning. It is easily soldered and brazed, and can be polished and plated. It is one of the most widely used brasses for pressed and deep-drawn parts, electrical connection components, radiators and decorative parts.
Strip standard: EN 1652
MS70
An unleaded brass containing about 70 % copper and 30 % zinc. Its ductility and cold formability are among the highest of all brasses, making it suitable for more demanding deep drawing and tight-radius bending than MS63. It can be soldered, brazed and polished. Used for ammunition cases, deep-drawn cups and shells, radiator parts and precision pressings.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between brass strip and brass coil?
Coil is thin brass wound at standard width. Strip is produced by slitting the coil to the width you need, matched to the feed width of the press line. The minimum order for custom slit strip is 60 kg.
Should I choose Ms63 or Ms70?
Ms63 (CW508L) is sufficient for general blanking and bending. For deep drawing and severe forming, Ms70 (CW505L), with its higher copper content and greater ductility, is preferred.
What are the designations for MS63 and MS70?
MS63: CuZn37, EN CW508L, DIN 2.0321, UNS C27200, BS CZ108. MS70: CuZn30, EN CW505L, DIN 2.0265, UNS C26000, BS CZ106. Any of these designations can be used in your enquiry; we will match the correct material.
Why can the invoiced weight differ from the calculated weight?
The calculator gives the theoretical weight. The actual weight varies with dimensional tolerances and cutting allowance; we invoice on the actual weight as weighed.
What information should I send for a quote?
We only need the grade, temper, size (thickness × width), total weight in kg and delivery location. If you fill in the calculator above, these details are added to the WhatsApp message automatically.
