MATERIAL DEFINITION

Silberstahl (Silver Steel), indispensable for precision shafts, drill bits, and ejector pins, is one of the most requested items in Point Metal's steel product group. This high-carbon tool steel, produced in DIN 1.2210 norm, provides smooth operation thanks to its ground and polished surface. This material, which can reach extreme hardness values such as 64 HRC after heat treatment thanks to the addition of Chromium and Vanadium, also resists impacts by maintaining its core toughness. Silver steels, which we keep in ISO h8 tolerance precision in Point Metal stocks, are standard in textile machine and precision measuring instrument manufacturing. It is frequently preferred for needles and pins requiring high impact resistance in the defense industry. Every shipment is delivered with a dimensional control report.
